Aston University
History:
Founded in 1895 as the Birmingham Municipal Technical School, officially became Aston University in Birmingham on the receipt of its Royal Charter on 22 April 1966. Sir Michael Bett took over the position of Chancellor on October 21, 2004 by Sir Adrian Cadbury, that younger brother Sir Dominic Cadbury is the chancellor of the University of Birmingham. Part of Birmingham City University on Institute of Art and Design is also located on the edge of the campus of the University of Aston-called its Gosta Green site.In 1983, Aston University, in partnership with Birmingham City Council and Lloyds Bank, Ltd. established technology which manages Birmingham Aston Science Park adjacent to the site of the university.
Guild of Students:
Guild Aston students is a nonprofit organization set up with the aim to involve and represent the student body of Aston. The Guild provides sports clubs, societies and welfare services, funded in part by money were increased commercial services union. On 29 November 2006, students voted to disaffiliate the union’s National Union of Students. The Yes campaign won 53% -47%, with a retinue of only 15% of the student body.
The guild is run by a team of permanent staff and a team called the executive chosen following the rules set out in the constitution of the guild. The executive is composed of full-time sabbatical officers and a number of officers for hours, the current president are Rehal phenomenon. The Guild is overseen by Executive Council, to which anyone can attend. The board makes policy changes implemented and maintains the executive to account. The policies range from the serious, such policies anti-discrimination, the more ridiculous, for example political ties of the union to end a night out with Frank Sinatra New York, New York. The council meets every three weeks and is currently chaired by Lucas John (LJ) Davies, assisted by Vice-Chair James Keane.
The hospitality of the guild is split into quarters. The bar down (a lower ground), known as Einstein is open through the food and beverage portion of the day. The bar also has a projector screen, a number of flat screen televisions that show SUB-TV and live sporting events throughout the day, pool tables, a jukebox and arcade machines. The ground level contains the BASE (Guild Hall) and the blue bar of the site, the latest homes Underground.The guild hall has been transformed into the base, an area with tables, a soft seat and a supply LCD TV relaxed so that people relax in during the day. By night the space is used for meetings and event odd. Thursday sees Einsteins Karaoke night until 2.

-Student Representation-the core service of the guild
-Campaigns and committees of the hospitality
-Services provided by the equalities, international students and officers graduate needs of various groups of the session.
