Drexel University is located in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania about 2 hours from New York and Washington DC . The campus is only 10 minutes from downtown, and both metro and buses provide a Pick-up service for trades good-night. The shuttle service connects the University (and campus) to areas where students live and Amtrak (national rail) is only 2 blocks from the University.The philosophy of Drexel University’s student-centered. Over 17,000 students attend the University, including 9.363 university students (undergraduates), U.S. and more than 100 nations. Classes are small, between 2 and 29 students per class.

The University offers over 170 academic courses with a great variety. It is known for its academic curriculum, which incorporates practices, information technology, fashion and Drexel Co-op . All undergraduate students can perform Drexel Co-op, which is a program that gives an opportunity to put the theory you learned in class and practice. Students can work with 3 heads and perform 18 months of practice while earning money. The University offers more than 140 social organizations and sports for students and 5 student circles and sororities. The John A. Daskalakis Athletic Center has a gym, pool and tennis courts for sports.

Admission:

As in all universities in the U.S., international non-Anglophone students must make the TOEFL (Test of EspaƱol as a Foreign Language) or send your notes to the admissions office. Alternatively, you can take the SAT I or ACT, if you do not want to TOEFL. In addition, students have the option of submitting an essay to the University with the hopes of winning $ 5,000 in financial aid.All documents must be authenticated and translated into English, and must be submitted to the Office of International Admissions.

Accommodation:

The University requires freshmen to live on campus, but after this year, students may live off campus. Living on campus will not only allow greater access to all university facilities, but also facilitate your social integration into university life.International students have the option to access the 7 houses that are on campus.

Each room is equipped with a telephone, television and Internet access and all students have access to education and recreational areas, laundries and kitchens.

Contacts for Students:

The International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) offers a wide variety of activities and services to its 1500 international students. The purpose of the office is to promote interaction between international students with American students, by organizing cultural events for students of Drexel and the local community.The office also provides academic information, financial, cultural and advises you about your rights as a student. Four times a year, ISSO organizes an orientation program for Drexel students to educate them on cultural and social issues in a fun way. More than that, an opportunity to make friends and meet people.

International House is an organization in Philadelphia that helps international students in finding accommodation and also offers services such as ISSO, but for all international students in the city. It’s a good chance to make friends outside the University and around the city.
