Education has a function, is to train generations who will inherit what we have built. Teach to respect the environment is urgently needed.

It is no surprise to learn that the environment is in crisis and human survival on Earth is in grave danger. Speaking of ecology is not a new issue, the pollution and the prevailing climate change are the greatest incentive to reflect on the subject.

Detachment of human beings to the environment

What triggered the indifference and detachment of human beings in relation to the environment? Without wishing to fall into reductionism odious, we say that the concomitant factor is the loss of meaning. The ideals have been subverted in the pursuit of goals and constructs that go hand in hand with unbridled consumerism, the failure to respect the environment and the economic collapse caused by individualism and greed.

And environmental fate

Many linked to deterministic ideologies, prefer to believe that environmental problems are caused by the intervention of supernatural forces. As said Carlos Osorio , a professor at the University of Valle in Colombia, in a paper entitled “Ethics and Values Education on Environment for the XXI Century”, ” Environmental problems are not the product of fate, are related to human intervention . ” Recognizing this fact has taken centuries. Many still do not, prefer to avoid the responsibility of knowing which is the same human being who has affected their habitat.

Education and environment

Education, as has been occurring since the Middle Ages on, there has improved a lot the matter. It has fallen into a mere accumulation of information believing the utopia of Francis Bacon: ” Knowledge is power . ” We are convinced that taking statements about reality, we would have control. Control, it was the concept of sovereignty and dominion, but bad owners, not properly cared for the property. The encyclopaedic has turned humans into zombies contemporary data. It has both, and yet so little. Today there is a kind of intellectual numbness to a wealth of history and facts that seem incomprehensible. Have information, but runs the risk of lack of wisdom. Data are available, but it suffers from a lack of sense. In many ways lack the ethical component for understanding the responsibility towards the environment human.

Educating for a New World

Humanity is going through a crucial time. Educating the human being to give a new vision of the world, not only for who is himself, but to feel part of a friendly and unthreatening. For centuries it has brought to the manipulation of the environment. Learn to take things to use them well. Discover to properly manage the resources we have. Must educate for awareness environment. The World Conference “Earth Summit” of 1992 in Brazil, left a bittersweet taste. The report said the world had reached a state of near exhaustion. The conclusion is that if humanity does not do something to correct the irresponsible use of resources, the planet’s future collapse.

In the document known as Agenda 21 , it was proposed that in order to have real change, there should be a revitalization of our core values of all major traditions, including religious and philosophical. Hopes are pinned on education. To change the relationship with the environment is to educate a new man. Someone who sees their environment, not in terms of consumption and use, but knowing part of a fragile habitat that is necessary care and protection.

The role of education

Education in this context, presents three major challenges.

# Show the need to guide human action for justice.
# Show that nature can become a safe habitat, but humans must have a relationship of responsibility.
# Show that all humans are brothers. We are members of humanity and therefore we must respect, admiration and solidarity with each other.

You need to train a new human being to learn to live in a healthy environment and renewed.

Conclusion

Look to the education , is to look with hope alone can provide a real and permanent change in time. Not in the kind of education that conforms to fill minds of data and information, but an education built on the basis of respect and the pursuit of balance with nature.

Many jobs are not visible. Yet they do exist. For digging up, a thorough investigation is complete.

Internet is like a jungle. A host of sites you can one-click access to thousands of job vacancies published around the globe. Moreover, via the national press, local and specialized, others even the same ads are available. From the open market says they are easily accessible, even too accessible . The competition is so fierce. Your new mantra: be proactive. Indeed, a parallel market called hidden, offers you other job proposals. To find them, a strategy is established. The goal is to proactively companies.

Tip # 1: search information

Hunting information establishes the basis of a job search wisely. Business directory, business press, websites of companies, trade shows are important sources should not be overlooked. Paint a detailed picture of the company: business, specialty, reward redemption or removal. This information personalize your cover letter but not only . You anticipate the needs of society. Thus, if it opens a branch near your home, you will be among the first to pass on your application.

Tip # 2: Develop your network

Word of mouth helps you develop your network of contacts. Before posting an ad, companies often consult their surroundings. Customers, employees or friends are likely to advise their competent persons. This procedure is called co-optation. Through your family, friends, former colleagues or your relationship studies, you glean useful data. Key contacts (HR, department heads) within the company, to power stations or advice are all elements that will serve you in your efforts to move forward. But be careful not to put the person in trouble by asking a service that will not go. Transform simple external events in a job interview. At a job fair, lunch or meeting, slide your business card, show your interest in the company and put your skills to light.

Internet offers you a window into the world. Most job search sites offers you to create your profile. To place your CV tops the list, no secrets. You should regularly update your page. Social networking professionals will provide a space for exchange with professionals. You publish your CV. You establish contacts within the professional sphere. You participate in “hubs” (discussions on specific topics). Thus, dynamic and always connect, you boost your online reputation.

Tip # 3: send unsolicited

Engage need. Unsolicited applications allow you to communicate your CV to companies to integrate your dream. Nothing should be neglected. Your cover letter and CV are tailored to the position, and structure. The main challenge: to succeed to the right people. However, even if that request does not result in an interview, the key is to let you know. Employers record more often your resume in their database. A first step toward an eventual hiring. They will draw, in due course, the interesting profiles.

Tip # 4: targeting the recruitment firms

An address book full, recruitment firms can finally provide you with relevant opportunities.

Austria’s Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer, who was the 60th anniversary of his former training center in Salzburg, has attended the seminar in the 70s. All graduates are part of an international, influential network. New participants will be engaged in only with a recommendation from two former seminarians.

The topics under discussion here are broad: “The Salzburg Global Seminar draws on topics that are of global importance and current. The mission of this institution is: “concern challenging present and future leaders to solve issues of global”. Expanding upon this, takes the Salzburg Global Seminar and the issue of environment and sustainability in its current world-wide problem again and again.
The SGS is in itself not a classical education or training center, but sees itself in his many years of tradition as a forum for dialogue: Here are executives and decision makers hence the relatively strong political involvement suggested to deal with global and current issues, cultural across all learning from each other and exchange ideas. In individual cases, it is also about the case of real political problems (strife in the Middle East) at a neutral location (lock Leopoldskron) to encourage the solution by the dialogue being promoted between the parties.

The most interesting points of discussion on climate change

#The environmental movement of the 20th Century is a discontinued model.
#We go into a CO2-restrictive, and the future opens up economic opportunities.
#Regional strategies work better than universal solutions
#The consumerism of the rich West charged global environment, the economy needs incentives to reduce these burdens.
#The private sector is an important engine of ecologically sustainable development.

The international elite Salzburg Global Seminar engages in its program to become too controversial environmental issues.”Making Green Pay The development of incentives for greater environmental protection” was about the motto of an event, which gathered 45 participants from 21 countries in Salzburg Experts from the world of business, representatives from NGOs, from the energy industry, research institutions and know of reputable institutions such as Yale University or Cambridge. Even experts from government environmental policy perspective, such as the former French Environment Minister Brice Lalonde argued with.

Design is everywhere. Concept, it became business. The designer is a fashion expert and ergonomics to serve customers of the company.

Search for harmony between form and function of the object qualifier in style with simple shapes and clean, the term “design” evokes the visual and graphic creation, without neglecting ergonomics. This, however, overlooks its economic role.

What is design?

Set design is a challenge, as the concept is complex. The design actually applies to architecture, furniture , to fashion , industry, fine arts, technology, engineering, marketing, etc. The term is overused (“This is furniture design very” or “This website has an interesting design”), without the reality of the business behind the visible part of the iceberg is actually received. Thus, to define it simply, while marketing and evoke the notion of consumer, the design is to design a product that fits the needs of the user, by positioning the user at the heart of the object. A functional analysis which would incorporate an aesthetic dimension.

What is a designer?

While an expert craftsman will be a material (steel, wood, plastic, textile, etc.), A technician will master a skill, and an engineer will work through a process, the designer will evolve in a global system and a transverse dimension. No “one-man band”, it will however reveal talents of “leader” in manageant different specialists working in a company, since the phase of research and development (R & D) will initiate product design , the step into production, then the marketing.

Why design?

To cope with competition from low cost labor, the industrial countries “capitalist” must reposition their strategy on intangible concepts (concept, design, marketing, upstream, but also distribution, merchandising, communication, downstream). The main parameter in the differentiation of a product is made by the customer himself, as a user of the future product or service. The intelligence invested in a new concept becomes a competitive lever, and the choice of design that will meet the expectations of consumers targeted, and that will make them want to buy, be a source of ROI.

Call for projects around the 2011 Design

The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry launches the third edition 2011du call for projects of collective action (behind 2006 and 2009) in favor of innovation, creation, design and marketing, the deadline for applications is scheduled for early March 2011. The aim of the approach is to place the user at the center of corporate strategy, to promote non-technological innovation, and strengthening business cooperation and exchange of good practices. SMEs are particularly concerned with the acquisition of design culture, from the perspective of brand positioning or niche.

Stopovers Design Salon 2010 in Bordeaux, and TADI: Trophies Aquitains Industrial Design

This is the context in Aquitaine, favorable to industrial design, the Design Stopovers took place over three days in Bordeaux in December 2010 to allow visitors including 5,000 to appropriate for this second edition of the five senses carriers design (sight, touch, smell, hearing, taste). Prizes were awarded through a contest on the theme of wood, preferred material in Aquitaine, and rewarded by TADI creations.

Design Manager: a multifaceted business

The field of design management is still somewhat fragmented, and it covers the various trades are misidentified. A study on MBA type courses, that would combine the two dimensions, offers six types of “Design Manager”, specifying the skills required and the types of international credentials likely to respond. The different dimensions are identified in artistic, managerial, sales, management, R & D, even though the concept of career is absent for a designer.

Design training to professionalize designers

In France, the offer of training is mainly focused on long courses or shorter non-degree diplomas, while the request is made mostly with expert consultants, private institutes, and trade associations, design schools and universities arriving as a last resort. The creation and structuring of a sector of the design is one of the first issues. The reconciliation between designers and businesses, including SMEs, is essential to promote design among managers, engineers or managers, which will integrate this dimension in their professional endeavors. Finally, offers of training shall be specific to the company size: the pedagogical approach of a small business starts with the acquisition of a design, while a large company will need to integrate more and develop existing skills, to develop monitoring tools, to approximate the functions and design strategy.

Basis for the subsequent presentation of Vodafone’s Environmental and Social Report 2004/2005 of the company.

The German Vodafone D2 GmbH , a subsidiary of Vodafone Group working in the mobile world employs over 9,300 employees and annual sales of 8.3 billion euros (fiscal year 2004/2005).

Value orientations at Vodafone

Vodafone D2 has developed within 16 years one of the most innovative and successful suppliers in the industry, mobile network operators in Germany with products such as UMTS, mobile phones, Vodafone mobile TV, mobile music, video telephony and system solutions for businesses, government agencies or hospitals. With four value orientations (“Passions”) is committed since 2001 to Vodafone’s responsibility in the economy, society and the environment and for customers, employees and trainees:

Passion for results: responsibility for a positive contribution to the economic environment of the enterprise and education area.
Passion for the world around us: Responsibility for the environment and the society in which we live and train.
Passion for our customers: Responsibility for our customers who will benefit from our products.
Passion for our people: responsibility for our employees and trainees, of their motivation, we live.

Strategic objectives of the Sustainable Development Strategy

In its sustainability strategy within the company and in the training set to Vodafone, the following three strategic objectives:

¤Vodafone is a company and training company that communicates openly and dealt with his environment.
¤It is a company that deals with the potential impact of mobile telephony and its activities for the benefit of the society promotes.
¤It is a business and training firm that saves resources and environmental impact to a minimum holding.

Examples of implementation of the sustainability strategy

Implementation examples of the sustainable development strategy can be found in the environment. Thus, in any Vodafone employee is required, in the office everyday with all the resources sparingly. Resource use and recycling rates are controlled. This is especially true for toner and ink cartridges, computer equipment such as PCs, monitors, printers, scanners, notebooks, paper and cardboard.

In 2003, Vodafone launched the campaign “Germany collects old cell phones,” the first network operator in Germany, the mobile phone recycling. It is inserted through a generational change from GSM to UMTS gradually more efficient network technology. Waste incurred electrical and electronic waste is fed to a proper disposal. Further implementation examples are in the range customer. In fiscal year 2004/2005 Vodafone provided with new, clearer more transparent tariffs. In addition, mobile telephony more affordable and therefore more attractive.

Also new are location-based services that make it possible to localize the position of mobile phones. The mobile phone is a mobile navigation system. The nearest ATM, a pharmacy or the whereabouts of the children can be queried. At the same questions arise regarding compliance of privacy, violation of rights of privacy and consent of affected persons, which raise Vodafone. For other people with severe disabilities, Vodafone has special rates. Mobile can be life saving for people with disabilities in a special way. To protect against misuse of a lost phone, can Vodafone cards, and since 2005, the phone will be locked by a call for free. Thus, mobile users get more security and protection.

Children and young people as customers are inexperienced in dealing with telephone calls often cost more, and then allow her as pocket money. With the Junior Card CallYa have children and young people through a monthly fixed minimum top, a kind of cell phone pocket money. In addition, the new Internet applications on the mobile phone is the protection against unwanted Internet content plays an increasingly important role. Vodafone wants to ensure that the youth protection guidelines are adhered to.

Other examples are seen in the implementation of personnel and trainees. Vodafone provides trainees from among others in the professions of a merchant / office communications, businessman / woman in the retail, advertising man / woman and computer science clerk / f. In special seminars and training for communication between different cultures are offered. Language courses, attended by staff and trainees are private, subsidized by Vodafone. In addition, international job vacancies in the Vodafone intranet give impetus to apply for jobs abroad also. In the context of equal opportunities for Vodafone, the proportion of women among the leaders is just under 16 percent. Overall, 44 percent of employees at Vodafone women. In addition, people with disabilities in all areas of the enterprise but mainly in call centers engaged.

Results of the Sustainability Strategy

But how are the results of implementing the sustainability strategy of Vodafone? According to the company Vodafone has taken important steps to his goal of being a responsible company to meet. For example, a Department for Corporate Responsibility was founded and introduced mandatory social standards for suppliers. In some respects, its goals, however, Vodafone has not yet been reached. For example, there are delays in the introduction of the “adult PIN” to protect children and minors from adult content. Also, a lack of awareness of customers in Vodafone shops on the specific absorption rate of mobile phones was found. Training for staff should be improved.
