Since 1841, Fordham University has offered a unique education to its students. It combines the usual education of universities in the U.S. the characteristics of the Jesuit tradition. It is a tradition of excellent qualified in teaching for the care and development of each individual. There are 3 campuses: Rose Hill Campus, located in the Bronx, Lincoln Center Campus in the heart of Manhattan, and Marymount Campus (college only for women) to the Hudson River in the village of Tarry town. The University serves the needs of 15,000 U.S. students and 50 countries around the world.
As part of the objective of the University, Fordham encourages students to commit to help the local community. Each year, students participate in community service outreach programs.The main library is located on the campus of Lincoln Center, but other on each campus, including a law library. Students have access to the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and in addition, a new graphic arts lab and media studies is available to all students.The University offers 120 social and sports clubs to their students. Lincoln Centre:
Accommodation for undergraduates Students live in apartments with two or three rooms. Each apartment has its own kitchenette, living room (with TV), dining room and bathroom. Each room has Internet access, telephone line, central heating and air conditioning.
Postgraduate accommodation:
There are several studios and apartments (one person) for graduate students in Upper East Side of New York. All apartments are located on quiet streets and students often make a community amongst themselves.
Marymount College:
Gailhac Hall: It consists of rooms for one, two or three people, Gailac House is home to most first-year students (Freshmen). It is very popular because of its river views and spacious rooms. It has a kitchen, laundry, living room (with TV and video) and computer room.Gerard Hall is the smallest residence campus, consists of rooms for one or two people, with its own bathroom. There are kitchens, laundries, living room (with TV and video) and computer lab.
St. John’s and Ursula Hall :
The two buildings enjoy picturesque views of the Hudson River, Tappan Zee Bridge and Tarrytown Lakes. It is the largest residence on campus, with private rooms for two people. It has bathrooms, kitchens and living rooms on each floor and the buildings share laundry, living rooms and computer room. There is a large community of international students here and an English program.
