Description of the University:

The Manchester Metropolitan University started as Technology, Art and Design from Manchester Mechanics’ Institution (1824) and Manchester School of Design (1838), moving in 1970 to be a polytechnic center. Since 1992 is officially college and has the following schools and colleges:

-Faculty of Art & Design
-Faculty of Health, Psychology & Social Care
-Faculty of Humanities, Law & Social Science
-Faculty of Science & Engineering
-Hollings Faculty
-Institute of Education
-Manchester Metropolitan University Business School
-MMU Cheshire

In total, the university has seven campuses , five of them in Manchester and Crewe and Alsager remaining – MMU Cheshire. Most of the studies were performed on the campus of Manchester, part of the British university tradition.
