Northampton University Information
Residence Halls:
The university has several types of corridors through both of its campuses and has just over 1,600 rooms in total. Most first years live in halls, but very few do it as second or third years. A lot of these students live in Abington area of Northampton. The halls are named after local historical figures and sizes, facilities and price of the site vary between them. The corridors are:
Simon Senlis (named after Simon de Senlis), Spencer Perceval and William Carey. The modern aisles but more expensive to live in.. Based on the campus of the park, each hall has 300 single bedrooms with en-suite. Each plane contains usually six rooms and a communal kitchen. The plans are usually single sex, although there a small amount of mixed sex flat. A small number of rooms twin en-suite are available in these corridors. The rooms have network access providing links to the network of computers of the university.
Margaret Bondfield
A slightly cheaper residence on the campus of the park, this modern hall offers single and standard twin comfortable standard. The plans include a 5-8 residents. Facilities are shared kitchen and bathroom. During the summer of 2007, there are plans to undertake some restoration in this hall.
John Clare and Charles Bradlaugh Hall
Based on the campus of the park, these are traditional halls located in the heart of the campus of the park near the library and social activities. It has 92 bedrooms (standard single) divided into levels of 5-10 rooms. Each flat has a kitchen and a shared bathroom. A noted female only hall. John Clare also comprises seven small houses. A former floor flat in Charles Bradlaugh Hall serves as a Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Centre.
