University of Bedfordshire
History:
University of Luton was a university based in Luton, the largest town in Bedfordshire. The institution was founded as a modern school in the 1890s. It became Luton University of higher education with the merger of the University of Luton Technology and the University of landfill Putteridge of education in the mid 70s. With the passing of the act of teaching over higher and higher, in 1992 he converted to university status in 1993. On 15 December 2005, the university announced that it succeeded the Bedford campus of De Montfort University. Courtesy of the Privy Council, the preferred name of the University of Bedfordshire has entered into force over the first August 2006.
The Bedford campus was in the university training for teachers of Bedford, which was founded in 1882 and university physical training based in Bedford 1903. They merged with a university education to become more permanent University of Bedford to higher education. There are currently 3,000 students below fair based in Bedford.
The landfill is a manor Putteridge neo – Elizabethan country located on the edge of Luton on the A505 to Hitchin. The campus is located approximately thirty acres of landscaped gardens. The landfill Putteridge can be traced back to Edward the Confessor’s time and has links to the Domesday Book. The building was completed in 1911 and was designed by architects Sir Ernest George and Alfred Yeats in the style of Chequers, after having had a variety of designs and reconstructions over the years. The campus is home to the graduate business school of the University as well as the conference center of the university.
